Project Purpose

Bathtub Beach Park is Martin County's most popular beach due to its calm protected lagoon along with its unique reef system, making it perfectly suited for families and children. Its distinctive amenities have been sorely missed by residents and visitors alike since its closure in September of 2007. Continued erosion along the shoreline threatens park infrastructure and MacArthur Boulevard. Martin County has been issued the permits to recreate a dune system that will protect the park’s infrastructure and stabilize the beach so that sand will accumulate to historic levels and promote recreational use by residents and visitors.
